Become a regional liaison for PCARN

Are you interested in getting involved with clinical research in palliative care but don’t know where to start? Or maybe you're already involved with research but want to collaborate and meet other researchers?

The Palliative Care Aotearoa Research Network (PCARN) is an exciting new group, aiming to connect clinicians across the motu who are interested in palliative care research. One of the ways we will do that is with interested volunteers nominating themselves to be a clinical research liaison between the national group and their local organisation.

Liaisons only need to be interested! You would be a point of contact for other healthcare professionals interested in research, so you can help people connect with each other locally and nationally. Liaisons would also be a way for the national group to disseminate information locally - this could include things like requests to join a study, news bulletins or grant opportunities.

Research experience is not required – we can support you with any questions you may get, we just need you to be a point of contact. We prefer people working clinically rather than purely academically, and we ideally want a diverse mix of ethnicities, genders, and multidisciplinary roles.

The time commitment will likely be minimal and we can support you if there is more enthusiasm locally than expected! You don’t have to actually conduct research if you prefer to find your feet first, but if you do then this is the perfect opportunity.

If this sounds like you, please contact us at admin@pcarn.org
