Te Whatu Ora’s national palliative care steering group is calling for expressions of interest for its equity working group.
The equity working group is being established to ensure the national palliative care work programme is focused on equity.
The working group will identify unwarranted variation, inequitable access to, and outcomes from, palliative care services and provide recommendations on achieving equitable access for all New Zealanders and their whānau.
The steering group is calling for expressions of interest from people with experience and/or leadership in the areas of:
Wellbeing for Māori, Pacific, and Asian communities
Whaikaha (disability) community
People with experience of receiving palliative care services and their whānau
LGBTQIA+ community
Health service policy, planning and funding
Improving access to palliative care services (patients and whānau)
Analysis and research specifically in relation to equity in health services
Primary, community and specialist palliative care services.
